The Our Trust Fund Podcast network is expanding! You already listened to (and loved!) the first episode of Shelby and Blaze’s Stoner Stories, and now it’s time for something…a little different. We take Kayla’s famous Marriage Managed series to the next level in our first attempt at recording a podcast! If you or a loved one is struggling with planning a wedding of your own or with being in a wedding, this podcast is for you. For our first episode, we decided to do a “Part 2,” if you will, to our last piece on the DOs and DON’Ts of being a wedding guest. Today, listen for some key advice on the DOs and DON’Ts of being a bride, groom, or member of the wedding party. Our thoughts and opinions are all our own…but we’re correct.

Kayla & Aimée’s Pick: Bride Wars and 27 Dresses
So yes, we’ve definitely plugged both of these movies before—I think even more than once each—but it’s for good reason! To start, they are both just stellar examples of one of our favorite movie genres, the romantic comedy. But the reason they’re such a good fit for today’s SWL is that they each go above and beyond in terms of actually trying to accurately depict the wedding planning process. Bride Wars takes great care to show many of the little things that go into planning a wedding (like the venue, your hair, your dress, the flowers, etc.), and we both really appreciate the point the film makes about how the wedding planning process can really make or break a couple. Or rather, how that time can truly show you whether you’re a good fit for each other (like Kate Hudson and her fiancé) or not (like poor Anne Hathaway and her trash fiancé). It also very much teaches the same lesson from today’s podcast ep: above all else, be a good friend!
27 Dresses is helpful in that it shows many of the expectations of bridesmaids, and also how those expectations can be blown out of proportion. Brides, don’t make the people in your wedding party do everything Katherine Heigl’s character did as a bridesmaid, even if they seem more than willing to do so. And, for the love of God, don’t pick a hideous bridesmaid dress!!
Show Your Support: No Kid Hungry
Food is the most important school supply.
According to the latest estimates, as many as 9 million children in the United States live in "food insecure" homes. That phrase may sound mild, but it means that those households don't have enough food for every family member to lead a healthy life. No Kid Hungry wants to change that.
No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. As a child hunger organization, ending childhood hunger is NKH’s primary focus and they achieve this through healthy and structured school meals, grants for schools, food banks, or community centers, further advocacy and awareness, and exhaustive research and time dedicated to policy changes.
If you or someone you know is struggling to get food for their children, No Kid Hungry wants to help. Use their Free Meal Finder for Kids to find free, healthy meals being served by organizations in your community. You can also find these resources by texting the word FOOD to 304-304. Data & message rates may apply. And, in the OTF fashion, we have already donated $75 to this organization and encourage you to do give what you can—even if it’s just a Facebook or Instagram like.
