To finalize our much-needed, week-long break from content creation is my favorite, our Friday collab. Like every other piece from this week, I dug up some old content—some of my favorite pieces—from the archives. For the collab, I couldn’t decide which I wanted to choose—there are just too many good ones!—so while deciding I thought, to hell with it, I’m giving them all of my favorite collabs from the past year and a half.
So here’s a non-conclusive but certainly a full list of my favorite collaborations we’ve done either reflecting in the specific post on Substack or over Zoom (or HouseParty… remember HouseParty??) with added description. The pieces below range from hilarious, to stoic, to intense. I’ve tried to include all our top contenders like the ones with one of our famous brackets or the really special ones like from our week on #MeToo or our year-long anniversary.

Shit We’re Loving: peace and fucking quiet
I already did PEOPLE yesterday
Yesterday I had to socialize with 30+ people at two different households, both of which I feel insanely uncomfortable at both. Funnily enough, 30 was actually on the low end. During previous holidays, those two groups grow significantly and I’d generally see closer 40. And on Wednesday night was another 20 people. I don’t want to deal with another person for a while.
Show Your Support: Donors Choose
Donors Choose as a platform makes it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need. Their mission is to move us as a nation closer to the point where every student’s needs are met and great education is being had. Donors Choose is committed to leading with empathy to combat systemic racism and socioeconomic inequity in our school system. Since 2000, Donors Choose has supported over 5 million people and over 2 million classroom project requests that range from butterfly cocoons, to robotics kits, to books with diverse characters, and classroom basics like tables and chairs.
Donors Choose works simply: Find a classroom project that inspires you and give as little as $1—since Donors Choose is a public charity, all donations are tax-deductible! When the project is fully funded, Donors Choose purchases all the requested items and ships them directly to the teacher. Every donor gets a thank-you from the teacher, photos of the project in action, and a detailed report of how each dollar was spent.
For all the devil’s advocates out there (like myself) this totally does not take away from the horrible fact that our education system needs some serious reform and our teachers should not have to set up a donations page to get supplies. The system is wrong. But until it changes, we have the power to help those who can’t wait. And if you’re a teacher (like Aimée!), you and your classroom have the opportunity to get funded. Check out the teacher process here.
Daily Intention:
Today I will…
Spend a reasonable amount while Black Friday shopping. I do not need to be extravagant this year.
